East Tech Wins Senate Championship

Rhodes might be the future of the Senate League, but East Tech’s lessons from a year ago helped decide who is Cleveland’s king of high school city basketball in the present.

Senior guards D.J. Harrell and Johnny Bigbsy each scored 25 points, and the Scarabs survived a Rhodes rally Friday night for the city championship, 67-63 in overtime at East Tech High School.

A year ago, Harrell and Bigsby were two of four players who showed up to practice a day before their Senate championship loss to Glenville.
